Leah, Okorie and I had a fantastic gig this evening at the Kennedy Center in D.C. We were even simulcast on the Web! Fortunately for all you folks who don’t live inside the Beltway, the Center archives its Webcasts, so you can see the whole performance here. We split the bill with a friend of ours from Richmond, Anousheh Khalili. Check out the show and drop Leah and the Kennedy Center a line to let them know you dug it.

p>Addendum: You might notice that the second song, “I Know,” runs a little long in the middle. We had to go into an extended “vamp” section since Leah’s mic cut out part way through the song. (You’ll notice a similar problem in my backing vocals in the last song, “Movie.” Apparently the mics caught a virus or something.) We stuck it out like pros, though, didn’t we? ;-)

So apparently the White House is up in arms about the upcoming comedy film Team America: World Police, from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of the constantly irreverent, irredeemably vulgar, and frequently hilarious South Park. Is there anyone at the White House who doesn’t suffer from Humor Deficit Syndrome who can let the Administration know that they should probably not bash this movie, since it will likely be skewering the left wing? South Park has shown itself, time and time again, to be a bitter enemy of the silly Hollywood media figures who pepper our airwaves with nonsensical socialist sloganeering. Not that they don’t find the right to be a slow-moving target, as well… they’ve as much as admitted that they are dedicated libertarians and find on both sides of the aisle plentiful fodder at which to poke fun.

p>Memo to Bush team: Worry about Kerry, not the movies. Kerry. Not Movies. Rinse and repeat.
