Linux, musical road-dogging, and daily life by Paul W. Frields

The gravedigger’s dream.

The gravedigger’s dream.

Wait Tom, I’d like to make a list including a few more of the more heinous crimes against humanity perpetrated in the name of strengthening a dead writer’s estate:

  • After the Ring: Stories in Honor of J. R. R. Tolkein
  • Total Recall
  • Extensions to “Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson
  • Extensions to “Dune” by Frank Herbert
  • Scientology

(See also here for a few ideas that, thankfully, never made it past the twisted brains at McSweeney’s.)

  1. I have a few suggestions, based off the Pierre Boulle book, Planet of the Apes:

    1. Beneath the Planet of the Apes
    2. Escape from the Planet of the Apes
    3. Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
    4. Battle for the Planet of the Apes

or, my favorite, the 10 hour all-in-one version:

Battle for the Conquest of the Escape Beneath the Planet of the Apes, or, as it was re-released in 1988 (with none-too-substantial post-production editing), Working Girl.
